When Microsoft Copilot fails

Microsoft Copilot is Microsoft's consumer assistant, on copilot.microsoft.com, in Windows and in Edge. Copilot inside Microsoft 365 apps is a separate service that Microsoft reports in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

If Microsoft Copilot is not working for you

  1. Open copilot.microsoft.com on another network, such as mobile data. If it works there, the problem is your connection, your DNS or your VPN.
  2. Update or restart the app, then sign out and back in.
  3. Look for posts about an outage: Microsoft has no public status page for Copilot; it posts Microsoft 365 incidents on the MSFT365Status account on X.

Questions about Microsoft Copilot outages.

Is Microsoft Copilot down right now?

The status at the top of this page comes from Hyperping checks of Microsoft Copilot, run every minute and refreshed on the page every 60 seconds. Green means the latest checks succeeded; red means they are failing, confirmed from several regions.

How do you check Microsoft Copilot?

We send an HTTP request to copilot.microsoft.com every minute, in turn from Virginia, Frankfurt and Singapore, and count a successful response as up. When a check fails, other regions check again before Microsoft Copilot counts as down.

Microsoft Copilot is up here but not working for me. Why?

An outage can be partial: one feature, one app, one country or one internet provider, and our checks see Microsoft Copilot from data centers. Try another network such as mobile data, update or restart the app, and check the official status page for an incident on one feature.

Does Microsoft Copilot have an official status page?

No. Microsoft has no public status page for Copilot; it posts Microsoft 365 incidents on the MSFT365Status account on X. Our checks are a way to see whether Microsoft Copilot answers right now.

Can I get alerted when Microsoft Copilot goes down?

Yes. Create a free Hyperping account and add copilot.microsoft.com as a monitor: you are alerted by email, Slack or your other channels within a minute of a failure. The free plan includes 20 monitors, enough for your own site and the services it depends on.
